San Antonio mixes a large healthcare sector, a hospitality economy built around the river and the convention trade, manufacturing, and a substantial defense-adjacent contractor base. Each of those buys security for a different reason.
Four markets, four different scopes
Healthcare is the largest of them: controlled medication areas, behavioural health considerations, staff duress in the places where people work alone, and access records that survive an audit.
Hospitality is about guest experience as much as security. Cameras cover the routes and the cash points, back-of-house doors control themselves, and none of it should feel like a checkpoint to a guest.
Manufacturing and distribution on the south and east sides is dock control, yard coverage and tool or material storage.
Defense-adjacent contractors carry federal funding conditions, which is where equipment compliance stops being a preference. Where Section 889 applies we specify compliant lines and document it.
Practical notes for this market
A great deal of San Antonio commercial stock is older, and older buildings mean masonry, limited pathways and doors that were never prepped for electrified hardware. Survey first; the door itself is usually the constraint.
Where a building is historic or in a protected district, mounting and cable routing need to be planned around what is permitted, not discovered on installation day.
