Cloud-managed entry communication
On the official Verkada Intercom page, Verkada describes its intercom platform as cloud-managed and built to answer calls, grant entry and boost security at scale. Verkada emphasizes sharp video, clear audio, a built-in door reader and cloud-managed call routing that works across one device or thousands. That matters because it turns the intercom from a simple door station into a broader operational tool.

Built-in reader and simplified entry
Verkada specifically highlights simplified entry through a powerful built-in reader that supports multiple credential technologies. The official page also notes that the TD63 encompasss a keypad for PIN-code entry and multi-factor authentication. This is critical because it shows how Verkada blends intercom, access control and visitor workflow into one entry device.

Video quality, audio quality and AI-enhanced context
The official intercom pages describe sharp video, crisp audio, multiple microphones, noise cancellation and AI-powered context such as persons of interest on calls. Verkada also highlights real-time translation, AI-powered voice directory and call routing, which matters on high-traffic or multi-tenant environments that want faster, clearer visitor handling.

Flexible receiver options and cloud call routing
Verkada emphasizes that calls can be answered at a desk or on the go, using iPad or mobile apps, web browsers or existing telephony systems. This is a major operational advantage for facility operators that do not want visitor calls tied to a single interior station.

Verkada intercom models we install and support
TD33
The official Verkada Intercoms page describes the TD33 as a slim video intercom designed for installation in tight spaces and on door mullions. It encompasss 2 dry inputs, 1 dry relay output, 1 RS-485 port and support for LF/HF credentials, mobile app credentials and QR code entry.

TD53
Verkada describes the TD53 as a full-sized intercom with exceptional audio and scan performance. It encompasss 3 dry inputs, 2 dry relay outputs, 1 RS-485 port and support for keycards, fobs, mobile app credentials and QR code entry.

TD63
The TD63 adds an integrated keypad for PIN-code access and multi-factor authentication. This makes it particularly useful at entry points where visitor communication, card/mobile access and keypad workflows need to live in one device.

TS12 and receiver options
Verkada also highlights the TS12 for audio-only applications in noisy or no-camera environments and supports receiver workflows through desk stations, mobile apps, browsers and telephony systems. That flexibility supports facility operators design intercom operations around their staffing model rather than around a fixed indoor station.
Why facility operators evaluate Verkada intercom
Verkada intercom is strongest where facility operators want cloud-managed call routing, integrated access control, strong video and audio quality and tight integration with the broader Verkada platform. It is especially compelling for modern offices, commercial buildings, schools and multifamily properties that want one operational model across intercom, video and access.
Support for existing Verkada intercom deployments
Existing Verkada intercom deployments often need receiver changes, call-routing updates, hardware replacement, software support and expansion to new entry points. KING SEDCO provides that installation, repair, dealer/reseller and maintenance support so facility operators can move from product research into real service with us.

Verkada door intercom systems, and what they replace
A Verkada intercom system is a video door station that answers on a phone or a browser instead of a handset screwed to a wall in reception. Somebody presses the button at the door; the call goes to whoever is rostered to take it, wherever they are; they see the visitor, speak to them, and release the door if it is appropriate.
What it replaces is the old arrangement where the intercom only works if a particular person is sitting at a particular desk — which is fine at 10am and useless at 6pm or on a Saturday delivery.
How the cloud intercom actually behaves
- Calls follow people, not desks. Ring groups mean a call can reach several staff at once and be answered by whoever is free.
- Every call is recorded with video. You can see who was at the door at 02:40, not just that the door opened.
- It is one system with the doors and cameras. The intercom event, the door release and the camera covering that entrance are in the same interface, on the same timeline.
- No phone line, no separate wiring run. One network cable does power and data, which is what makes retrofitting a second entrance affordable.
Where a video intercom earns its place
Staffed receptions that cannot be staffed all day. Back and side entrances that take deliveries. Tenant entrances in multi-tenant property. Gated yards where the person who has to make the decision is not the person standing nearest the gate. Schools and clinics where the door should simply not open until somebody has looked at who is behind it.
An honest note on evaluating it: the specification that matters is not the camera resolution on the door station, it is whether the people who need to answer will actually have the app and use it. We set that up properly at handover, because an intercom nobody answers is a doorbell.
